How Many More Days Left in June?!?

Looking on here, I could not believe that my last post was May 16th!! Time has FLOWN by, and here are the updates on why!!
  • Toward the beginning of June (the 10th to be exact :-)) I GOT A NEW TEACHING JOB FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR! - Teaching Preschool - Very excited - was ready to move on, and be in a job more 'stable' than at CCCA
  • Next, my dear cousin Emily got married (beautiful, beautiful ceremony - so happy for their new life together)
  • Then, came the end of our current school year and the closing of that chapter of my life
  • After that, there was the 'Adventures of Vacation Bible School' - WOW what a busy and mostly chaotic 2 hours for 5 days - Whew!
  • Then, ADAM GOT A NEW TEACHING JOB FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR!! - Teaching High School Special Eduction - He is Thrilled!! as am I, and even though we are going to have changes next year, I think they are positive and wonderful for our family
  • To celebrate we spent an entire day at Kings Dominion (hence our new family pic) www.kingsdominion.com
  • Which brought us to a pool party with our group of friends with young children, and the 'official' start to our summer this week, as it is the first week we didn't have to work at all
I have been HORRIBLE about forgetting to take my camera places, but I have some I took of us making our own 'Slip-and-Slide' - who needs to spend all that money on some new fancy one, when you can just get out an old tarp!!

As always, we have just been enjoying the outdoors, staying cool (mostly staying wet because Ella LOVES water), and being together as a family! Adam and I are SO blessed to both be teachers and have the summer to spend doing all the things we enjoy (which being with Ella every day definitely tops our list!)!! She is continuing to grow and change at amazing speeds (with ever developing language) - we have a 'little girl' now and just in the last day or so have changed her room, which was a nursery, into a 'little girl' room - complete with pink and purple flower stickers on the wall, butterfly/flowery bed linens, a plush pink rug, a pink and purple bug bean bag - you name it!
Adam said he couldn't tell who was more excited me or her - and I told him it was all very exciting and bitter sweet for me - like some kind of 'Mommy rite of passage' (rite of passage: a ritual event that marks a person's progress from one status to another) - I truly no longer have a 'baby', and while yes of course it put a little lump in my throat to be putting away the changing table, little blankets and burp cloths, etc., it also made me really excited and hopeful for all that lies ahead, and SO thankful to be where we are right now in this very moment!!
